In my future role as a nurse practitioner, I will apply principles of holistic nursing, cultural humility, and self-reflection to ensure that I am providing person-centered care. I will strive to understand the patient’s cultural background and beliefs, and be open to learning from them. I will also strive to be aware of my own biases and prejudices, and be open to learning from the patient’s perspective. Finally, I will strive to be reflective and self-aware, and to be open to feedback from the patient and other healthcare providers. By applying these principles, I will be able to provide person-centered care that is tailored to the individual patient’s needs and preferences.
