SOLUTION
The results of a Prothrombin Time (PT) and Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) test for a patient would depend on the patient’s individual medical history and current health status. Generally, a PT test measures the time it takes for a patient’s blood to clot, while an APTT test measures the time it takes for a patient’s blood to form a clot after it has been exposed to a chemical activator. If the patient has a clotting disorder, the results of the PT and APTT tests would be expected to be abnormal.
